Another Year
Another comedy year has past for me – my anniversary is on Sept. 5, and I have to take a moment and look back on what I’ve done, and I must say; it’s been a great year.
The gigs keep improving, and thankfully, so does the money.
There’s a lot more TV this past year, most notably Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn.
The writing gigs are getting better, topping off with my book, THE COMPLETE IDIOT’S GUIDE TO WRITING COMEDY, hitting bookstore shelves.
NYC is in the middle of another comedy boom, and I’m enjoying working lots of new rooms like The Improv, The Comedy Company, and The Tribeca Comedy Basement.
There have been many memorable professional moments, including Sharing the Improv Opening MC duties with Dean Freddie Roman. Wonderful book signings in NYC, Cleveland, and most notably in Montreal during the festival. And even the recording of my first comedy CD in July!
One sad note, my trusted chariot, the 1988 Ford Taurus, yesterday gasped her last breath. It’s sad to see an old friend perish, especially when we’ve gig’d so much together.
Anniversaries are a time for reflection, and amazement. If next year can be as good as this year, life will
