A Busy Time
Wow is it busy! The last few weeks have been amazing -- the Underground Festival ending, me guest editing at Jest, and taping segments for the BBC. Add to that about a million tour dates, and you can see why I haven't had much time to post.
As for right now, I'm doing a Free Comedy Writing Workshop / Book SigningWednesday, November 17th @ 6PM@ The Drama Bookshop -- 250 W. 40th St.New York, NY 10018 -- Tel: (212) 944-0595. And because you all keep asking, the book is doing great! I would have never believed that it would do this well.
The next big project I'm producing is a home DVD which will be released this summer. THE NYC COMEDY SHOWCASE, which is a combination of sketch, interviews, & stand up. There are 8 shows in the series, and the stand up for the first 2 shows will be taped at the Laugh Lounge on Sunday, November 21st @ 8PM. Laugh Lounge NYC is located at 151 Essex Street, and their number is 212-614-2500. There is a $5 cover & 2 Drink Minimum for this show.
The next 6 episodes tape after the new year, and will be filmed at Gotham Comedy Club, The Bitter End, and The Laugh Factory.
The first show features; Dante Nero (Tough Crowd,) Yvonne Mojica (Dave Chapelle Show,) Mike Siscoe (Producer's Award Winner for the NYC Underground Comedy Festival,) Brett Alan, Carla Rhodes, Liz Miele, and Johnny Watson, Melvin George II (Comic Strip Live & Mo’ Better Blues,) Quentin Heggs (Tough Crowd,) and NYC comedy Legend Rick Shapiro (Tough Crowd.) Hosted by Leighann Lord (Comedy Central, The View & HBO’s Def Comedy Jam.)
11 comics, 5 cameras, 2 hours -- this should be a trip!
For the Friar's out there, I will be a performer on the New Faces Showcase @ the Friar's Club on Monday, November 22nd, at 6PM. Contact the club for more information.
Finally, I will begin filming the Infinite Monkey Sketch Film on Friday, November 26th. Expect a July premier.
